Who We Are

Chris Toal

CEO of Chrisalla & Co-Founder of KUZN Foundation

Every story has a beginning. Ours starts with a boy in a primary school photo. If that child walked into my clinic today, I would call the police – because I’d see the pain in his eyes, and I’d know exactly what he was living through. Like many, my early journey was far from easy. I spent years lost, numbing the hurt in ways that never truly healed me. But somewhere along the way, that pain became a tool – a compass pointing toward the work I was meant to do.

More About Chris

Every story has a beginning. Ours starts with a boy in a primary school photo. If that child walked into my clinic today, I would call the police – because I’d see the pain in his eyes, and I’d know exactly what he was living through. Like many, my early journey was far from easy. I spent years lost, numbing the hurt in ways that never truly healed me. But somewhere along the way, that pain became a tool – a compass pointing toward the work I was meant to do.

I realised I was made for this. Not for the ordinary. Not for the safe and predictable. But for the hard places – the war zones, the silent battles, the hidden suffering. For the soldiers returning from conflict, bodies broken and spirits bruised. For the survivors of abuse who carry their trauma in every step. For those living with chronic conditions and injuries the medical world has long since given up on.

This is why the Chrisalla Method exists – every technique has been developed, tested, and proven in some of the most challenging environments imaginable. These are not just treatments. They are lifelines. They work in ways most would call impossible – restoring movement, releasing pain, and returning hope where it has been lost.

Today, Chrisalla wants to share this knowledge, train the next generation, and create more healers who are made for this work. Because the time has come to take what has rebuilt lives in a decimated nation, and give it to the world.

If you were made for helping people out of the darkest places – if you’re ready to see the impossible happen week after week – then welcome. You’ve found the place where healing becomes transformation.

Alla Kalinina

CEO of KUZN Foundation & Co-Founder of Chrisalla

My name is Alla and I am from Ukraine. Together with my husband, Chris Toal, I co-founded the KUZN Foundation. Our most challenging mission began in the hardest of times – when my country was fighting for its independence, its freedom, and its very survival.

More About Alla

We created the foundation to bring help where it was most desperately needed – to the military, to wounded civilians, and to anyone whose life had been torn apart by war. Each time we travel to Ukraine, we carry not only supplies and equipment, but also hope. We’ve stood in hospital wards, on rehabilitation floors, in makeshift clinics – hearing the gratitude of soldiers who sign their names on our banners as a reminder of why we do this work. Every signature tells a story of survival, courage, and connection.

It was here, in amongst the devastation, that we relied upon the Chrisalla Method – the unique bodywork approach Chris has spent decades perfecting. I have seen its power first-hand. I’ve worked with soldiers who have endured unimaginable trauma: concussions from repeated blasts, bodies riddled with shrapnel, spines twisted from the strain of battle. And yet, after treatment, they stand taller, move freer, and often tell us they feel hope again for the first time in years.

These moments remind me why we must share this method with the world. It’s more than therapy – it’s the restoration of dignity, function, and belief in life after injury.

In Ukraine, our work is a lifeline. Around the world, it can be the same – for anyone trapped in pain, disability, or the scars of trauma. My deepest wish is to see more healers trained, more lives transformed, and more people discovering that recovery is possible, even in the darkest of times.
